(Toronto, ON) – A new poll by Liaison Strategies for the National Ethnic Press and Media Council of Canada (NEPMCC), the industry association representing Canada’s non-official language newspapers, TV, radio, and online news media, shows the Liberals steady at 42% while the Conservatives are up 1 point to 38%.

The rolling survey, conducted from March 23 to March 25, 2025, used interactive voice response technology to poll 1,500 Canadian voters. The results have a margin of error of +/- 2.53%, 19 times out of 20.

Liaison Strategies, a member of the Canadian Research Insights Council (CRIC), was the most accurate polling firm in the 2025 Ontario Provincial Election.

“The Liberals hold steady at 42%, the Conservatives inch up to 38% (+1), and the NDP remain stuck at 7%," said David Valentin, Principal at Liaison Strategies. "So far, it's smooth sailing for Mr. Carney, who stays in the lead despite some recent missteps."

"Regionally, the Liberals maintain their edge in Quebec, with the Bloc Québécois and Conservatives now tied at 26% each, while the Liberals sit at 37%. They continue to lead in Ontario, Atlantic Canada, and in British Columbia they now lead by 7 points."

"At these numbers, the Liberals are on track for a majority government, while smaller parties continue to be squeezed out. ‘Other’ is down to 1%, the Greens sit at 2%, and the PPC has dipped to 3% (-1 from yesterday)."

"As I write this, we're awaiting details on auto tariffs from President Trump—news that could dominate the entire day. Interestingly, Mr. Carney's announcement this morning happened to focus on the auto sector."

"Mr. Poilievre's announcements today are likely to resonate with seniors—a crucial voting bloc where his party has been struggling throughout our tracking. Any movement in that demographic could be key in helping the Conservatives close the gap," concluded Valentin.
