June 6, 2023 (Toronto, ON) – A new Liaison Strategies poll for the National Ethnic Press and Media Council of Canada (NEPMCC) shows Olivia Chow with a 21 point lead over Mark Saunders. With advance voting beginning on Thursday time is running out for candidates to put a significant dent in her lead.

Conducted from June 3-4, 2023, using interactive voice response technology, the poll surveyed 1,287 Toronto voters. The margin of error for the poll stands at +/- 2.73%, 19 times out of 20.

"Every week we have seen growth for Olivia Chow - she is peaking at the right time," said David Valentin, Principal at Liaison Strategies. "This week Chow is up 5 points among decided voters, growing her lead to 21 points over Mark Saunders who is in second place."

"The undecided rate is the lowest it has ever been, now at 21%. That's a drop of 6 points - the majority of which has gone to Chow who gained 5 points among all voters. In other words, undecided voters are breaking to Chow."

"The rest of the field continued to be muddled. This week Mitzie Hunter and Josh Matlow are tied for third, followed by Ana Bailao and Brad Bradford. Anthony Furey, meanwhile, has hit a new high in our polling of 6%."

"The campaign isn't over until it's over, but there is precious little time left for any of the candidates to break out."
