(Toronto, ON) – A new national survey from Liaison Strategies shows Mark Carney’s Liberal Party continuing a 14 point lead over the Conservatives led by Pierre Poilievre.
The Weekly Federal Tracker reveals that the Liberals now hold 46% of decided and leaning support, followed by the Conservatives at 32% and the NDP at 9%.
Liaison surveyed a random sample of 1,000 Canadians from March 9 to March 21, 2026, using Interactive Voice Recording (IVR) technology. To ensure a representative sample, participants were reached through random digit dialing (RDD) across both landline and cellular phone networks. Each week, the rolling survey refreshes the sample by adding 500 new participants and removing the oldest 500 participants. The margin of error is ±3.1 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.

David Valentin, Principal at Liaison Strategies, said:
"We are seeing a continued strengthening of the Liberal position across most of the country. The 14-point national gap is underpinned by dominant performances in Ontario and British Columbia, alongside a remarkably competitive showing in Western Canada. That being said, the Conservatives have expanded their lead in Alberta to 7 points in this survey, as the PPC/Other has not been able to maintain their level of support there consistently."
"It is a strange universe where a 7 point lead for the Conservatives, in Alberta, is considered good news."
"The demographic divide continues to be stark. While the Conservatives are essentially tied with the Liberals among voters under 35, the Liberals have built a massive advantage with voters over the age of 50".

"Mark Carney continues to hold a very strong position with Canadians, seeing his approval rating tick up to 64% this week while disapproval dropped to 32%. This stability at the 64% mark, which has been reached in three of the last seven weeks, suggests a very solid and resilient base of support for the Liberal leader. Despite minor fluctuations over the past year, he has consistently maintained a two-to-one approval-to-disapproval ratio, reflecting a durable personal brand as he leads his party to a significant national advantage."
"Meanwhile, Pierre Poilievre’s personal numbers remain essentially unchanged this week, with his favourability holding steady at 38% while his unfavourability saw a marginal one-point increase to 53%. While he has successfully clawed back some ground from a low point of 35% earlier this month, he remains significantly underwater with a 15-point gap between those who view him favourably and those who do not. The challenge for the Conservative leader remains finding a way to break out of this high-thirties ceiling and broaden his appeal beyond his core base of supporters."
