How do I get a Student Visa?
All students from countries outside of Canada require a valid Student or Tourist Visa before entering Canada. For language courses of less than three months, a student may enter Canada with a Visitor's Visa. For courses of 3 months and more the student must apply for a student authorization from the Canadian Consulate or Embassy in their home country before arriving in Canada.
To obtain a Student Visa the student must go to a Canadian Embassy or Consulate with a valid passport, a letter of acceptance from Liaison Training Centre, and proof that the student has enough money to live and study in Canada for the full period of their visit. Usually it takes from between 3 to 6 weeks to have a Student's Visa processed. When the course begins, the student must also have valid medical insurance coverage. This coverage can be obtained after arrival in Canada, although it is recommended that this is done beforehand.
When I register will you send me a "Letter of Acceptance"?
Yes, when you complete the Registration Form and send the appropriate Registration Fee, Liaison staff will send you your "Letter of Acceptance" by return post. This normally takes about a week, depending on your home country destination.
