The following courses are also offered by Liaison Training Centre and are more focused on particular aspects of Business English:


Intermediate and Advanced levels only. Includes guided discussions, role playing in typical work-place situations, explanation of conversational conventions and idioms, outline of cultural guidelines. Duration: Approximately 4 hours/week for 10 weeks.

For the student who seeks rapid and significant improvement, teaching is conducted one-on-one and focused on subjects of interest to the participant/company. Duration: 2 hours/day, Monday to Friday, from 4 to 6 weeks.

For students who can afford to devote 2 weeks, full-time, to the study of the second language. Excellent confidence builder! Duration: 2 weeks, Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Intermediate and Advanced levels only. The objective is to improve writing skills including correspondence, formal briefings and report-writing. Duration: 2 or 4 hours/week in class, for a total of 40 hours of classroom time.

Intended for students who wish to completely immerse themselves in a second-language learning experience. University or Academic Preparation- this course focuses on the language skills required for university-level study with an emphasis on effective reading, comprehension and vocabulary extension. For more information click here (TOEFL).
Advanced Written & Oral- this course is for Advanced levels students (Levels 7 & 8) who want to continue to improve their written work, overall comprehension and conversation. Students will work on briefing skills, negotiating, problem solving, all aspects of business communications, summaries and report writing.
Advanced Written- this course is for Advanced level students (Levels 7 & 8) who want to take their written work to a higher level. Students will be working on producing reports, business communications, summaries and briefings.
Advanced Oral and Listening Comprehension- this course is for Advanced level students who want to speak and understand at a higher level. Students will practice briefings, negotiations, problem solving and structured discussions.
Grammar & Oral- this course is designed for mid to upper intermediate level (Levels 5 & 6) students who want to improve their oral language skills with an emphasis on conversational grammar, idiomatic expressions and vocabulary. Oral language skills are strengthened through a series of structured exercises, scenarios and projects.
Grammar & Written- this course is designed for mid to upper intermediate level (Levels 5 & 6) students who want to improve their grasp of English grammar, complex constructions and vocabulary. Written skills are advanced through a series of structured exercises and projects.
Oral Communications Skills- this course is for students who are at the upper intermediate or lower advanced levels (Levels 6 & 7) and who want to improve their oral communications skills. Emphasis is given to styles and structure of briefing, clarity of speech, grammar accuracy, vocabulary appropriateness and perfect oral comprehension.
Conversation and Pronunciation- this course can be adapted for students at all levels for both vocabulary and grammar but who wish to improve their pronunciation. The course emphasizes stress and intonation for North American spoken English.
Reading and Vocabulary Extension- this course enhances both reading and comprehension skills and expands vocabulary. This course is adapted to students at all levels.
The Art of Presentation-This course is especially designed for those people who need to make presentations and speaking in public. It teaches the key words and tricks to give an articulated presentation and how to use and present visual aids. An excellent confidence builder!
Real Beginning-This course is for people who have never been exposed to the English Language. It has a special approach to eliminate the fear of the unknown, and familiarize the student with the basic vocabulary. Little bits of language for listening and reading comprehension are introduced to the participant, and the general characteristics of the language are taught so that he can move with confidence onto the next level. The student is also trained to the basics of English pronunciation. Duration: Approximately 4 hours/week for 10 weeks
